Not sure I agree ENTIRELY with your post; some GREAT comics are wordless, but holy fuck that's some stunning ART!!!!! Does that spread exist as a print??? Can't believe you created stuff this good and it didn't get a wider audience; breathtaking.

A good old fashioned edit should help:

“Good comics storytelling MUST be readable without words.”

-- is the statement I don't agree with.

Agreed; ignores the very collaborative nature of most Comics....BUT that said (and it's all, like Music, subjective) I think ONLY the best Comic Artists CAN tell a story without words. Whenever I think about brilliant pages my 'go to's' are always wordless (usually Jaime Hernandez's 'Death of Speedy'), my own personal Grail Page (Immomen's Superman: Secret Identity) is as powerful without words as it was printed with. Your take on it is brilliant as instigates debate; even alone! And that 'Paste Spread' is brand NEW to anyone who only discovered you via 'SB' and it's outstanding in a sea of stand out work.

To be clearer— I’m not saying comics need words. I’m just saying that being able to tell a wordless story isn’t the height of comics storytelling.

And thank you! Truly. It was pretty well and widely received at the time, but no one would ever complain about more eyes and appreciation.
